Children's Mental Health

Spawned from a CATCH (Community Access to Child Health) Planning Initiative and shaped by community feedback from a Children's Mental Health Summit held in May 2005, the Children's Mental Health Advisory Board is carrying out these 4 activities:
  • Developing a local, web-based resource directory of children's behavioral health services;
  • Exploring ways to facilitate routine developmental screening and behavioral consultation for young children in area child care settings;
  • Implementing "Collaborative Office Rounds" with area Pediatricians and Mental Health Providers to provide training and case consultation on developmental/mental health issues;
  • Researching reimbursement/billing issues to increase access to needed behavioral health services and integrate health and mental health services in primary care settings.
Detailed summaries of the Board's reports and recommendations, including a Summary of CATCH Initiative Activities/Findings and 2005 Children's Mental Health Summit Results can be found under Documents/Reports.
