Next Session in Family Engagement Lecture Series on May 10th from 5:00-7:30 PM Focus: Maximizing Family Strengths


Maximizing Family Strengths:  Setting children up to succeed  is the title of the third of four dinner/lectures in our continuing education series on family engagement.  The session will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 5:00-7:30 PM at The Village Inn in Narragansett. 

Jacqueline Sparks, PhD,  associate professor of family therapy in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Rhode Island, will talk about identifying & utilizing family strengths to support children, including strategies for partnering with families and avoiding adversarial relationships.  Principles of Client Directed & Outcome Informed (CDOI) therapy will be shared as a way to engage families more fully in change efforts.
